The Director of Project Management is responsible for providing leadership in the management and enhancement of an Information Technology (IT) Program Management Office (PMO). This position will oversee Five Star Senior Living s project portfolio and pipeline, managing large complex projects and refining the Project Management methodology. Responsibilities also include overall status reporting, budgeting, resource management, reporting, training, oversight and executive level governance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive and communicate the project management vision. Facilitate project portfolio management, prioritization, and portfolio governance aligned with corporate strategies. Provide strong project management leadership and drive organizational maturity in project management processes. Recruit and develop project managers who can direct corporate projects in a matrixed environment that requires people, process, and technology delivery. Actively develop, mentor, and coach people so that they have the competencies and skills to successfully complete projects. Create and implement standardized project management and business analysis practices and create and leverage appropriate processes and tools. Overall management of key vendor relationships and escalation point as necessary for project team. Provide enterprise visibility into project portfolio performance and enterprise resource management by developing summary and detail status and resource utilization reporting. Establish standardized, visible, accurate project benchmarks and performance metrics to monitor project health and continuously improve project delivery. Actively engage in ensuring the Five Star Senior Living project portfolio is delivered on time, on budget, and with the required quality and scope. Other duties as defined. QUALIFICATIONS: 10 years experience in delivering large complex projects. 3 years management experience in leading a Project Management Organization. In-depth and demonstrated expertise in delivering people, process, and technology change. Track record of developing and enforcing project management procedures and policies. Strong vendor management experience. Expert in requirements development methods and methodology. Expert in tracking and planning resources in a large environment. Expert in reporting project status to management. In depth knowledge of portfolio management, governance and reporting. Experience working in a Consulting Services Organization servicing external clients desired. Ability to manage independently in a dynamic environment with rapid development cycles, multifunctional teams and tight project timeframes. Bachelors degree in IT, business or related field. Healthcare experience a plus. Limited travel may be required. Freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
