About The Opportunity

Responsible for the management of employees, cost, equipment and R&M, utilizing the Lean Fundamental Tools throughout the Maintenance Department. Identify/implement new technologies in maintenance field e.g. Vibration Analysis, Thermal imaging, Laser alignment, etc. Track and maintain machine/line uptime at budgeted levels.

Key Responsibilities

Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Provide leadership to team using the GKN Six Promises

Direct team members and maintain a physical presence

Responsible for the training structure and plans to support the ever changing technologies as well as for the training and development of maintenance and controls associates

Maintain associate attendance information including vacation schedules.

Perform required timekeeping tasks in the Kronos system

Ensure that safety is the top priority with Maintenance Team

Assist the team, engineering, other Value Streams and management to ensure customer requirements are met

Develop associate work schedule to include weekend and holiday coverage

Provide leadership to build / support EI teams.

Drive continuous improvement thru EI teams.

Investigate, recommend, development and training of the Maintenance department.

Continue to create strategies to support Predictive maintenance.

Appraise the performance of team members and guide them in planning their development using the PDP (Performance Development Process)

Ensure conformance to all GKN policies, OSHA work instructions and requirements.

Hire and develop associates in accordance with staffing needs.

Handle disciplinary issues within the guidelines of GKN s policies and procedures

Manage Industrial Maintenance Technicians, directing them in daily tasks and expectations.

Develop, maintain and monitor budget for equipment, manpower and expenses.

Investigate new technologies.

Ensure EHS standards are followed, maintained and improved.

Integrate IPS senior associates into a maintenance program.

Initiate best practices and bench mark with other GKN facilities.

Build and maintain good customer relationship with machine manufacturers for parts and service.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

High School Diploma - required

Bachelor degree in Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent preferred

Industrial Maintenance Courses in Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Electronics..

Proficient in Word, Excel, and SAP etc.

Ten years Industrial Maintenance experience, Five years supervisory experience About Us
